Beyond Pink TEAM Benefits from RAGBRAI funds
The Beyond Pink TEAM received a $2,110 grant from the Cedar Falls RAGBRAI Committee.

The funds awarded will be used to send two young breast cancer survivors to the "Annual Conference for Young women Affected by Breast Cancer". Paula Pecenka and Cressie Golden will be flying to Jacksonville Florida to attend the conference February 22-24, 2008. Both women are excited about attending the conference.

"I am so excited to have the opportunity to travel to Jacksonville and speak with all of the young survivors," said Pecenka who was diagnosed with breast cancer at age 25. "It will be so nice to be able to relate to other young women. I can't wait to bounce ideas off others and get all kinds of ideas and bring them home to our area."

The knowledge gained from the conference will be shared with the Beyond Pink TEAM, so that needs of young survivors in the Cedar Valley are better recognized.
