The mission of the Touch of Courage breast cancer support group is to provide a place for brest cancer survivors, along with their guests, to meet, share their concerns and advice, access resource library, and increase their knowledge about breast cancer and related issues through guest speakers.

The purpose of the Advisory Committee is to provide, evaluate, and assist the facilitator for the breast cancer supports group.

Committee responsibilities include:

  • hiring the facilitator,
  • evaluation of facilitator performance at regular intervals,
  • establishing salary,
  • arranging for support group meeting sites,
  • aid in securing of guest speakers,
  • and evaluating survivors' needs.
The Advisory Committee meets at noon on the 2nd Tuesday in March and September. A committee member or the facilitator may call any additional meeting that are necessary.

Currently, meetings are held in the conference room at the Covenant Cancer Treatment Center in Waterloo, Iowa. The support group facilitator is Dawn Colbert with co-chairs for the Advisory Committee, Jeanne Mullen and Dee Hughes.
